Blue OTP messages

Blue OTP messages are encrypted texts exchanged between the characters, and one of the main sources of the story. The system these originate from is called XORFS, after the cipher used: XOR.

Format

We may find them on AS32 under the agent codes 18xxx. On each of these agent codes, a text-to-speech voice says:

  1. “Blue OTP 1 file start”
  2. A series of hexadecimal numbers, with letters A to F spelled using NATO phonetics
  3. “Offset” followed by the byte position of the key

“Blue OTP 1” is the file otp-blue-1.bin (1 GB) from the El Paso drop. The keys are fragments of that file, equal in length to the message.
