A dead drop is a method of espionage tradecraft used to pass items or information between two individuals using a secret location. Dead drops related to OTP22 usually appear in the format of geocaches, with the drop coordinates and (sometimes) location photos being shared using the Agent systems. Dead drops are used by WORM to distribute one-time pads and other mission critical information to its field agents. Felicity is using dead drops to distribute incriminating information on WORM and Emtanon to OTP22 agents.

The original OTP22 game had 50 dead drops, in which 44 were recovered. The drops spanned 7 countries, including the United States (The contiguous US as well as states of Hawaii and Alaska), Finland, Bulgaria, Thailand, Australia, Malaysia, and Japan. Possibly the most notable drop took place in Blue Hill, Maine. A series of unusual events followed the drop, commonly called “The Blue Hill Mysteries”: http://otp22.referata.com/wiki/Blue_Hill_mysteries
The following links contain information about dead drops from original OTP22 run.
