Emtanon is said to be a worldwide organization. These are some of the more significant locations in the story.

Gibraltar is the location of the Emtanon HQ. It is sometimes referred to as the Rock, suggesting that its exact location is the Rock of Gibraltar. Two Terminals that we monitor are located there.

Gough Island is a tiny island in the South Atlantic Ocean, halfway between South America and Africa. Its only population is the personnel of a South African weather station.

This weather station has been contracted to Emtanon since 2018, which used it as a front for Goughcom, a communications facility elsewhere on the island.

In late 2022, an Emtanon employee suggested hiring “interns” to keep up with the South Africans' requirements, while intending to snag some for “actual work”. The recruitment was done through Craigslist in early 2023. Among those hired was Felicity, who escaped not long into her internship. In September 2023, the remaining interns were drafted into the Marine Org.

In the early morning of October 21, 2023, Goughcom was blown up by Jeff's electronics planted a few months earlier.

Leskov Island is a subantarctic desert island. In late 2022, Emtanon started a project to construct a shortwave radio station there. The bulk of construction work was done in June 2023. After many delays, it is scheduled to commence operations in late 2023.

• Bouvet Island is a subantarctic desert island. In June 2023, it was visited by the ship TRANSP, although the details were not revealed. In October 2023, new Marine Org recruits were sent there for training.
• Iqaluit, Canada is the location of an Emtanon field office. In May 2023, it was the starting point of the interns' journey to Gough Island.
